Collecting, modelling, painting and wargaming in 28mm

Where do I come from?

I live in Germany near Heidelberg.

When did I start collecting, modelling, painting and wargaming with miniatures?

I started in 1988.

How did I get into this hobby?

As a teenage boy I was collecting comics. And one day I went into my local comic-store and  saw that they had received a delivery with strange, fascinating new English (rule)books together with nicely illustrated boxes filled with shiny metal miniatures. Especially the one box below caught my attention:

So after a while of me staring at this box and Skarloc and his Woodelf Archers staring back at me, I decided not to spend my money for comics that day, but rather for nice looking miniatures of which I hadn´t a clue. That´s how it all began…

What scale are the miniatures in this blog?

The scale is 28mm (from foot to the eyes of a human miniature)

What rules did/do I play regularly?

  • Warhammer Fantasy Battles 3. – 8. Edition (RIP)
  • Warhammer Historical Battles (RIP)
  • The 9th Age: Fantasy Battles
  • Lion Rampant
  • Hopefully soon: To the Strongest!
